Clear, honest answers to your questions about Niva
No. Niva is an educational awareness tool that helps parents observe everyday behaviors and understand sensory needs. It does not replace direct assessment by a specialist or occupational therapist.
We do not describe children with words like "stubborn," "badly behaved," or diagnostic labels. Instead, we focus on how the nervous system responds and what sensory needs may be present in each situation.
Dunn's model is a widely used occupational therapy framework that describes how the nervous system receives and processes environmental input — such as sound, touch, and movement.
No identifying information — such as your child's name, phone number, or email — is required for the initial check-in or summary. You simply answer questions about everyday behaviors you have noticed.
A non-diagnostic summary of a possible sensory processing pattern, a plain-language explanation of what you may be observing, and three play-based or routine suggestions for home.
If responses suggest something that warrants specialist review, the check-in pauses calmly and you are guided to speak with a pediatric specialist or occupational therapist.
Niva is available as an Android APK and as a web app (PWA). You can install it on your phone without relying on foreign app stores.
