Safety, methodology, and limits

Our commitment to full transparency about what Niva can do, its scientific limits, and family safety.

What Niva does and does not do

Niva does:

  • Offer non-diagnostic language for describing everyday behavioral observations.
  • Identify possible sensory patterns based on Dunn's sensory processing model.
  • Suggest simple, play-based strategies for regulating the home environment.
  • Let you record observations to share with an occupational therapist or specialist if you choose.

Niva does not:

  • Provide medical diagnostic labels (such as SPD or ASD) or claim definitive treatment.
  • Replace in-person clinical assessments by occupational therapists or pediatric specialists.
  • Prescribe medication, medical intervention, or clinic-based treatment plans.
  • Collect identifying or cognitive data without a parent's knowledge.

Safety protocol and signs that may need consultation

If a check-in or everyday review suggests concerns related to development, physical health, or acute worry, Niva gently recommends speaking with an appropriate specialist.

If you notice a sudden loss of skills, self-injury, or significant developmental concern, please speak with a pediatrician or occupational therapist promptly.
